She started her art journey at age six, drawing and painting on the walls of her parents’ home. Her journey continued into middle school, then high school, where she first started realistic graphite pencil portraits of classmates.Although Maxine had to put down her art to raise a family, years later, her passion for art reignited after she was asked to do a wall mural for her church. After that, she pursued a degree, studying fine arts and graphic design. Today, not only is she a graphite pencil artist, she has also illustrated nine books.
